New CEO to continue leading Thomas Concrete Group's growth in the U.S.

On July 1, Ryan Chandley will assume the role as CEO for the U.S. subsidiary of the Swedish-owned Thomas Concrete Group.
“We continue to pursue strong growth in the U.S. market, where Ryan has been a driving force during his seven years in the company,” says Hans Karlander, CEO and President of Thomas Concrete Group AB.

The U.S. is one of Thomas Concrete Group’s most important markets. The company operates 85 concrete plants across the country, and the U.S. subsidiary accounts for approximately 65 percent of the Group’s total revenue. In recent years, the company has seen stable growth, largely driven by a strong team culture and positive leadership within Thomas Concrete Inc..

As Ryan Chandley steps into his new role this summer, the strategy is clear: Continue to build a strong "Team Thomas" culture and to create the conditions for continued growth. Ryan will officially assume the role on July 1, succeeding the current CEO Alan Wessel, who is retiring but will remain with the company as a senior advisor.

Ryan Chandley has an MBA in Business Administration and brings over 25 years of experience in the concrete industry, having held several key operational and commercial positions. He joined Thomas Concrete in 2017 as Sales Manager and was promoted just four years later to Senior Vice President of the Georgia Division. In this role, he has led business development efforts and customer focus initiatives that have delivered significant performance improvements.

“With a strong focus on safety, improved processes and profitability, Ryan has contributed to position us as the concrete specialist in the U.S.. He challenges the norm and encourages team members to think creatively, constantly seeking new solutions and more efficient ways of working. His positive attitude is contagious and makes others grow – making him the natural successor for the CEO role,” says Hans Karlander.

Alongside Ryan’s appointment as CEO, the company’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Fredrik Höglund, will get an expanded role with a clear focus on strategic initiatives and driving priorities. The two will work closely together and lead team Thomas towards the company’s vision of being perceived as the best in its industry.

“After more than 11 years of a fantastic leadership, deep commitment and contagious enthusiasm, we’re happy that Alan will remain involved as a strategic advisor also after his retirement.
