Thomas Beton delivers 3,540 m³ of low-carbon concrete for logistics facility in Hamburg

As part of the construction of a state-of-the-art logistics facility in Hamburg, Thomas Beton – the German subsidiary of Thomas Concrete Group – has supplied approximately 3,540 m³ of low-carbon concrete. The project combines high-performance materials with a reduced environmental footprint, contributing to a more sustainable standard for commercial construction.

The concrete used for the SEGRO Logistics Centre in Neu Wulmstorf is part of the THOMAGREEN® SILVER product line. It achieves a certified carbon reduction of 31 percent compared to the industry benchmark – corresponding to approximately 286.7 tonnes of avoided CO₂ emissions. Its environmental performance is documented in an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), alongside additional third-party verifications that support the project’s ambition to be certified according to one of the highest German sustainability standards – DGNB Platinum.

“Projects like Neu Wulmstorf show how sustainability and technical requirements can be successfully combined. We are proud to contribute as a partner in the execution and as a driving force in sustainable construction,” says Thorsten Brinkmann, Chief Sales Officer at Thomas Beton.

The supplied concrete – C30/37 THOMAFLOOR with steel fibres – is characterized by reduced clinker content, an optimized binder composition, and full transparency in raw material selection. The result is a robust and durable material, especially suited for demanding industrial flooring.
